What is sublimation?

Sublimation is the method of applying an image onto specially prepared items of ceramics, cloth, metals, and plastics using three primary ingredients: special sublimation inks/pigments, heat and pressure.

Sublimation inks are unique in their ability to convert from a solid to a gas and back to a solid.  This conversion is initiated by heat and controlled with pressure.

Are there any design restrictions?

There are no restrictions as to number of characters, color of fonts, style of fonts and size of fonts nor placement of characters as long as they all fit into the available space to be decorated (mug, mouse pad, coaster, etc.). Our sublimation is produced on a printer capable of 100% full bleed. Therefore design images can be simple text, artwork, logos, and photographs.

Does detail of design affect the price?

Typically no. But there could be some design that might affect the price. An example might be if the background color for a mouse pad or license plate was to be a solid color (like black, blue, red, etc) with the design superimposed on top, that could affect the price.

Can there be slight various in the designs on each item?

Printing color designs onto various mediums such as glass, ceramic, porcelain or fabrics, is  significantly different than printing on paper. Because of this there is always some variations in the reproduction of the art work and in the reproduction of the exact colors specified.  We want you to be aware of this as we can not guarantee "color perfect".
